Seniors, scholarships are an important part of your college planning. Be sure to pick up applications for all the scholarships that you are eligible to get. Keep checking this page and the bulletin board outside the guidance office and in the library for information about available scholarships. Make a list of the scholarships that pertain to your field of study or that you are eligible for. Make sure that you fill all applications in completely and that everything you need for them is attached. Be sure to read all instructions before returning completed applications. Some applications need to be submitted directly to the organization offering the scholarship and some may be turned in to the guidance office.

For free financial aid help contact: Your high school counselor, or any college financial aid office. Please think seriously before spending any amount of money for financial aid help. This is money that could be used to help pay for college tuition, books, or living expenses. CHARLES HELLMANN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR FUTURE EDUCATORS: This scholarship is in honor of the teachers who strongly influenced the life of Charles Hellmann and will be used to support future educators in South Dakota. A $1,000 scholarship will be presented to any qualifying Winner High School student who is in the top half of their graduating class and is interested in becoming an educator in any area. FIRST FIDELITY BANK SCHOLARSHIP: A minimum of two $500 scholarships will be awarded to two high school seniors for each First Fidelity community. Eligible students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a South Dakota Institution of higher learning. Selections will be based upon academics, extracurricular involvement and need. Scholarships will be paid at the beginning of the 2nd semester. HAROLD E. SMITH SCHOLARSHIP: A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Winner High School Senior planning to obtain a degree from a South Dakota School of higher education. Preference will be given to, but not restricted, to a student showing strong aptitude for English, including drama and/or oral interpretation. Applicant must have obtained a suitable academic achievement. Please complete application and attach a copy of official high school transcript and resume. RAY NEYENS SR AND GRACE NEYENS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Tripp County High School graduate planning to attend a south Dakota School of Higher education (to include industrial, technical and four-year accredited universities). Applicant should be respectful, of good character, strong in citizenship and community activities and have obtained suitable academic achievement. DON & FERN JORGENSEN SCHOLARSHIP: A $750 scholarship will be awarded to a qualifying Winner High School Senior. JAMES & LAWRENCE NEYENS SCHOLARSHIP: 2 - $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to two Tripp County High School graduate planning to attend any school of higher education (to include industrial, technical, and four-year accredited universities in or out of state). Applicant should be respectful, of good character, strong in citizenship and community activities, participated in extracurricular activities, and have obtained suitable academic achievement. WINNER ROTARY CLUB & GEORGE AND JACK BAILEY FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: Two $500 scholarships will be presented to qualifying Winner High School seniors. TRIPP COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP: A $300 scholarship will be presented to a qualifying Tripp County High School Senior. Eligible applicant must be planning to attend a South Dakota School of Higher Education (to include industrial, technical or four year accredited colleges and universities). A minimum GPA of 2.5 is also required. Applications are available by clicking on the highlighted PDF link at the top of this page. ANTES FAMILY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP -
A $500 scholarship will be presented to a qualifying Winner High School Senior who plans to pursue a career in agriculture. YANKTON MEDICAL CLINIC SCHOLARSHIP: The Yankton Medical Clinic P. C. Scholarship is open to any high school senior, located in the Yankton Medical Clinic. P.C. service area, with an interest in pursuing a major in the medical field. If interested write a short essay describing "Your College Career Plans" and return to the Guidance Office by February 5th.

ROSEBUD ELECTRIC SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is only open to students whose parent(s) are members of Rosebud Electric Cooperative. Applications are available by clicking the yellow highlighted PDF link at the top of this Scholarship Submittal Requirements Complete the requested information on the first page of the application form. (Attach additional sheets if necessary) Include your most recent academic transcript whether it is from a high school, college, university or trade school. Current college freshman must submit their high school transcript also. Include a copy of your ACT score Include a short essay written by you outlining your high school/college honors; community and school activities; your employment history; and future career goals. SOUTH DAKOTA ENGINEERING SOCIETY CENTRAL CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP: The Central Chapter of the South Dakota Engineering Society (SDES) is please to announce their annual scholarship. Seniors interested in becoming an engineer and will be attending a South Dakota Engineering college next year are eligible. NATIONAL WILD TURKEY FEDERATION SCHOLARSHIP: The NWTF has awarded more than 4.6 million dollars in academic scholarships to students across North America who demonstrate a commitment to conservation, academic excellence and who possess the leadership skills to make a difference. JCI SENATE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in South Dakota, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. AES SCHOLARSHIP:
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. This award is available to all students, regardless of their field of study. To be eligible this $500 award the student needs to answer one of the essay questions that they will find on our site at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm Application deadline is October 6, 2018.

SDABA AG SCHOLARSHIP:
Each year, SDABA awards a total of $6,000 in scholarships to high school and/or undergraduate students majoring in agriculture at a South Dakota University or Technical School. Open to customers, employees, or family members of an employee of members of the South Dakota Agri-Business Association or Country Pride Co-op. Application deadline is March 1st mailed to South Dakota Agri-Business Association, 320 E Capital Avenue, Pierre, SD 57501-2519.

PEO SCHOLARSHIP:
This scholarship is open to High School senior girls with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applications are available by clicking the yellow highlighted PDF link at the top of this page. Application deadline is - March 1st returned to the Guidance Office.

DAKOTA CORPS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
The Dakota Corps Scholarship Program was created by Gov. Rounds to encourage South Dakota's high School graduates to: Obtain their post secondary education in South Dakota, remain in the state upon completion of their education, and contribute to the state of South Dakota and its citizens by working in a critical need occupation. Graduate from an accredited South Dakota high school with a Grade Point Average (GPA of) 2.8 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Home schooled students will be allowed to provide supplemental information if this requirement is not applicable. Have a composite ACT score of 27 or greater (or the SAT equivalent). Agree, in writing, to stay in South Dakota and work in a critical need occupation after graduation for as many years as the scholarship was received, plus one year. The current critical need occupations for 2018-19 are: Teacher High School Math, High School Science, Elementary or Secondary Special Education, Teacher -Teacher - High School Career and Technical Education, Teacher - K-12 Foreign Language, Accountant / Auditor, Engineer (includes all fields EXCEPT mining), Information Technology, or Registered Nurse. BUILD DAKOTA SCHOLARSHIP: Build Dakota Scholarships will be awarded to students entering high-need workforce programs at South Dakota's technical institutes to fill the state's technical careers with skilled professionals. The program will both grow South Dakotas own and recruit new South Dakotans. DAVID L. PROFILET SCHOLARSHIP: Winners of this award must be graduates of a South Dakota high school who plan to attend Augustana College in Sioux Falls. Additionally, successful candidates will have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; demonstrate financial need; and show character traits such as courage, determination and an ability to overcome adversity. FRED AND MARIE CHRISTOPHERSON SCHOLARSHIP:
Applicants who plan to attend a four-year college or university in South Dakota, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.9 after seven semesters, and have a minimum ACT score of 28 are eligible for this award. JOE FOSS "AN AMERICAN HERO" SCHOLARSHIP:
To be eligible for this award, applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or university or vocational or technical school; have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 of better and a minimum ACT score of 21; and demonstrate characteristics of an American patriot. KIMBERLY ROSE MEANS - NATIVE AMERICAN COUNCIL OF TRIBES SCHOLARSHIP:
This scholarship benefits graduating high school seniors who are enrolled members of a South Dakota Native American tribe or South Dakota tribal members who are returning to school after an absence. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university or vocational school; have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 of higher; have participated in school and community activities (only applies to high school seniors); and have the desire and ability to accomplish his or her goals. OSMANN FAMILY NATIVE AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP:
This scholarship benefits graduating South Dakota high school seniors who are enrolled members of a Native American tribe. Applicants must plan to attend a college in the South Dakota university system or a vocational or technical school in Sioux Falls, Watertown, Mitchell, or Rapid City and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher after seven semesters of high school. GORDON K. HORGEN MEMORIAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP:
This scholarship is meant to honor the legacy of scientific education brought to students of Winner High School by Gordon Horgen during his 41-year career as an educator and mentor in the various sciences. Gordon taught at Winner High School from 1961-2002. he was an outstanding chemistry and physics teacher and was easily recognized wearing his trademark white lab coat. Mr. Horgen was also the first computer teacher at WHS. In 1971, Gordon was named the SD Outstanding Young Educator and in 1987 he was presented the SD Outstanding Physical Science Teacher Award by the SD Academy of Science. Mr. Horgen was described as the consummate teacher, always looking for a way to reach students and to help them find success. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a qualifying Winner High School student who plans to attend a school of higher education (to include industrial, technical, and four-year accredited universities) and will be pursuing a college degree in a scientific or mathematical field including anyone planning to become a science or math teacher. The scholarship will be paid to the registrar of the college or university at the beginning of the second semester of education. Please return your completed application, an official copy of your high school transcript, resume and two sealed letters of recommendation from teachers, one of whom is a science or math instructor, to our high school guidance counselor. SDEA/NEA GORDON HORGEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:
The South Dakota Education Association/NEA awards scholarships to native American students who are planning on entering the teaching profession. The Association may annually award up to two $750 scholarships for each academic year. Applicant must be in the top quarter of his/her class as of January, of their graduation year. Must be accepted and/or enrolled in a South Dakota college or university and be enrolled in a Tribe or descendent of a Tribal enrollee. OSCAR & ROSE PRAVECEK FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP:
The family of Oscar & Rose Pravecek has established a fund in their honor. They enjoyed a successful lifestyle in the Winner area. This scholarship is for the benefit of deserving graduating students from Winner High School under the following terms and conditions. Selection of students shall be based on pursuing an Ag-related field or vocation, be returning to an ag area, or be a participating 4-H member. CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS COURT MARY IMELDA #1014 SCHOLARSHIP:
One $200.00 scholarship will be presented to a qualifying Winner High School Senior girl upon registration at the school of their choice. IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP:
One $200.00 scholarship will be presented to a qualifying high school senior upon registration at the school of their choice. Applicant must be a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. ESA ALPHA PHI ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP:
One $200 competitive academic scholarship awarded each year. Not open to children or grandchildren of ESA Alpha Phi members. Must be a senior in Winner High School planning post high school education. Student must have 3.0 GPA. Applications are available by clicking the yellow highlighted PDF link at the top of this page. Application deadline is - the second Thursday of March by the end of the school day returned to the Guidance Office. 

ESA BETA ALPHA SCHOLARSHIP:  
 This scholarship is available to Winner High School seniors planning ro pursue a post high school education.  Eligible applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.0  Award is based on need of applicant and their non academic and/or volunteer work.  Applications are available by clicking the yellow PDF link at the top of this page.  Application deadline is - March 16th of graduation year.

GOLDEN WEST TELECOMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIP:    Scholarship awards will be one ear, $1,000 scholarships.  The Golden West Telecommunications Scholarship Program will offer a total of 45 awards.  Each high school will be eligible to receive one award.  The student's parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must reside within one of the Golden West Telephone service areas (see enclosed list) and subscribe to a Golden West service (phone, internet, cablevision).  The applicant must be a high school senior and have taken the Scholarship aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) at an examination center of their choice no later than December 1 of their senior year.  Scholarship awards may be applied to post-secondary institutions and begin attending the institution the fall immediately following graduation with 12 or more credits.  Applications are available by clicking the yellow highlighted PDF link at the top of this page.  Applications for 2018 graduates must be completed and returned to the designated school official by March 15, 2018.

ORDER OF EASTERN STAR/MASONS SCHOLARSHIP:

ARDELL BJUGSTAD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR NATIVE AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS:  
The Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship Program for Native American Students provides support for freshman Native American students who are pursuing studies in agribusiness, agricultural production, agricultural sciences, or a natural resources degree at any post-secondary institution.  Applications and all the requirements are available at https://sdbor.edu/students/documents/Bjugstad  ;Application deadline is - February 23, 2018. 

ANNIS I FOWLER/KADEN SCHOLARSHIP: 
The Annis Irene Fowler/Kaden Scholarship is awarded to first-time entering freshman at BHSU, DSU, NSU or USD and who will select elementary education as their major field.  Special consideration is given to students with demonstrated motivational ability, a disability, or who are self-supporting. CLASS OF 1962 SCHOLARSHIP:  
 The Winner High School Class of 1962 is offer in two (2) scholarships in the amount of $250 each.  The following qualifications must be met by the applicant.  A Senior at Winner High School accepted to a Technical Institute or  two (2) year or four (4) year college within the State of South Dakota.  Provide the name of the graduating member of the WHS Class of 1962 to whom you are a blood relative and tell relationship.   (List of graduating class is included with applications).  Involved as a volunteer in at least two (2) community activities and/or recognized high school extra curricular activities.  Application is available by clicking the yellow highlighted PDF link at the top of this page.   Application deadline is - April 15 returned to the Guidance Office by noon.

PHEASANTS FOREVER SCHOLARSHIP:
